Boulder, CO. – January 14, 2022 – Active Interest Media (AIM), a leading special interest media company serving enthusiasts and professionals in the home and marine markets, has created two new company Vice President positions and promoted from within.

Effective immediately, Julie Zub is the Vice President of AIM Events. Zub will oversee the Marine Group’s Trawler Fests in Stuart, FL and Baltimore, MD; the Marine Group Flea Market in Ft. Lauderdale; the Angler’s Journal Fishing Tour and the Marine Group Pavilion at the Miami Boat Show. Zub’s responsibilities include strategic planning and profit/loss management for event attendance promotion and registration, education and seminar planning, hospitality and on-site operations.

In addition, AIM’s new V.P. of Events will provide strategic and operations assistance to the long running Home Group events including the Writer’s Digest conferences and the Traditional Building Conference Series. Home Group plans to hold two new events in 2023.

Zub will report to Gary DeSanctis, President of AIM’s Marine Group and have frequent communication with Peter Miller, President of AIM’s Home Group. Zub will work in collaboration with the Marine and Home Group brand leaders including the editors, publishers and general managers.

Amanda Phillips steps up from Director of Catapult Creative Labs, AIM’s Marketing Services Division, to Vice President of Marketing for AIM. In her new role Phillips will continue to provide marketing services for outside clients. Phillips will also direct strategic marketing and operations for AIM’s Marine and Home Groups.

AIM has rebranded “Catapult” to Marine Group Marketing Services and Home Group Marketing Services. This better conveys the home and marine market knowledge Phillips’s team of editors, copy writers, graphic designers, digital producers and marketing project managers bring to clients.

Phillips’s team will apply their market expertise and creative services in support of AIM advertising sales teams. She will report to both Group Presidents and lead AIM’s corporate marketing initiatives, too.
